State Library NSW

A collaboration with awesome artist and florist Lisa from Doctor Cooper Studios for the State Library of NSW 2016 exhibition ‘Planting Dreams: Shaping Australian Gardens’. We created an interactive artwork that encouraged members of the public to join in and help The Garden grow.

The three different flowers (Sturt Desert Pea, Bird of Paradise, Pansy) were designed to fold together without the need for glue. In this way, the general public could be creative in the gallery and fold their pansies to add to The Garden without risk of damage to the other exhibits.

As you can see, it was a HUGE hit, with just under 10,000 individual pansies added to The Garden over the duration of the three month exhibition.
